SHOW TEAM

For riders ready to take their skills beyond the lesson ring, the Wild Dream Farms Show Team provides opportunities to learn, grow, and compete in a supportive team environment.

WDF riders compete in hunters, equitation, jumpers, and dressage, with opportunities designed around each rider’s experience, goals, and readiness. Our focus extends beyond ribbons—showing is an opportunity to develop confidence, horsemanship, sportsmanship, and the ability to perform under pressure.

There is more than one path to the show ring at WDF. Riders may compete with a WDF horse or their own horse, and participation in the Show Team is not limited to horses enrolled in our training program.

Show opportunities are recommended based on the horse-and-rider combination's experience, preparation, and goals. WDF helps riders prepare at home and provides coaching and support throughout the competition.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Showing with Wild Dream Farms begins long before competition day. Riders prepare at home through regular lessons, focused schooling, and horsemanship education so that both horse and rider arrive at the show ring confident and prepared.

WDF helps riders select appropriate competitions, divisions, and classes based on their experience, goals, and current progress. At the show, riders receive coaching and support throughout the day, from preparation and warm-up through their time in the ring.

Show Team riders are also expected to take an active role in the care and preparation of their horses. Competition is an extension of the horsemanship we teach at home, and learning to care for your horse, manage a show day, support your teammates, and demonstrate good sportsmanship are just as important as the results earned in the ring.

Whether a rider is attending their first local show or pursuing larger competitive goals, our focus is on thoughtful preparation, positive experiences, and continued development of both horse and rider.

SHOW TEAM FEES

Competition expenses vary depending on the show, location, classes entered, and individual horse-and-rider needs. WDF provides show-specific information and estimated expenses before each competition whenever possible.

Show Training & Coaching — $100 per horse/rider combination, per day
Applies each day WDF is at the competition with the horse/rider combination, including warm-up days, schooling or practice days, and competition days. This includes training, schooling, warm-up, ringside coaching, and other show-related support as appropriate.

Grooming & Horse Care — $100 per horse/rider combination, per day
Paid directly to the groom. Grooming provides complete daily care of the horse while at the competition, including feeding, watering, stall care, grooming, preparation for the ring, tacking and untacking, and routine care throughout the day. This allows riders to arrive prepared, remain clean and competition-ready, and focus on their riding and performance.

Hauling — $2 per mile, per horse, round trip
Applies when WDF provides transportation to and from the competition.

Additional Competition Expenses
Show entries, office and association fees, stalls, bedding, braiding, accommodations, and other show-specific expenses vary by competition and are the responsibility of the client.

A NOTE ABOUT GRATUITIES

Gratuities are not included in show fees. If you’d like to show your appreciation for your trainer, groom, braider, or other service providers, tips are always greatly appreciated but never required.
