About Wild Dream Farms
Wild Dream Farms is built around thoughtful horsemanship, individualized education, and a commitment to helping both horses and riders reach their potential. Our approach puts the horse first while developing knowledgeable, confident, and capable equestrians both in and out of the saddle.
OUR APPROACH
HORSEMANSHIP COMES FIRST.
At Wild Dream Farms, we believe becoming a great rider means becoming a great horseman. Riding is only one part of the education we provide. Our students learn to understand the horses beneath them through handling, grooming, tacking, groundwork, daily care, and the countless small details that create capable, confident equestrians.
Our approach is built around the individual. Horses and riders learn differently, progress at different rates, and bring different strengths and challenges to their education. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all program, we meet each horse and rider where they are and build from there with strong fundamentals, thoughtful instruction, and clear goals.
We also place a strong emphasis on rider biomechanics and body awareness. Instead of focusing only on what a rider's overall position looks like, we work on the individual pieces that create it. Targeted exercises may focus on alignment, balance, mobility, stability, strength, coordination, or the use of a specific part of the body. By improving these smaller pieces, riders can develop a more effective overall position, move more naturally with the horse, and use their aids with greater clarity and independence. The goal isn't simply to look correct in the saddle, but to understand how the rider's body influences the horse and learn how to use it more effectively.
The horse always comes first. Training and lesson decisions are made with the horse's physical and mental well-being in mind, even when that means changing the plan for the day. We believe progress should never come at the expense of the horse, and that learning to recognize and respect what a horse needs is an essential part of becoming an equestrian.
Ultimately, our goal extends beyond helping riders improve in the saddle. We want to develop knowledgeable, independent horsemen who can think critically, communicate effectively with their horses, and carry the confidence, responsibility, and respect they develop at the barn wherever their riding takes them.
Our Staff
Danielle Skaar, Owner & Head Trainer
Danielle is the owner and head trainer of Wild Dream Farms. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Danielle grew up riding and training under Tiffany Jenkins and Deirdra Davis and has spent much of her life involved in the equestrian industry as a rider, competitor, trainer, and industry professional. Her experience spans hunters, equitation, jumpers, and dressage.
Growing up without the budget for a made show horse, Danielle learned to develop her own horses—an experience that continues to shape her approach to training today. She believes successful horses and riders are developed through strong fundamentals, patience, confidence, and thoughtful horsemanship rather than shortcuts or a one-size-fits-all program.
Throughout her competitive career, Danielle has earned numerous championships and year-end awards across multiple disciplines. Highlights include a California Dressage Society Southern Regional Adult Amateur Championship, Reserve Championship at Desert International Horse Park, Top 10 finishes at the California Dressage Society Championships and Thoroughbred Incentive Program Championships in the hunters, Top 10 TIP Year-End Performance Awards honors, and Top 10 year-end honors with the California Western Dressage Association.
Beyond riding and training, Danielle previously served as Executive Administrator for the Los Angeles Hunter Jumper Association from 2022–2024 and currently serves as President of The Wild Dreams Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to equestrian education and opportunities. Today, she brings that experience to the horses and riders of Wild Dream Farms while continuing to ride and compete with her personal horse, Kobe.
Ava is a working student at Wild Dream Farms, where she plays an active role in the daily care of our horses and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the farm running. She assists with horse care, lessons, shows, events, and the day-to-day needs of the WDF program.
As part of WDF’s working student program, Ava is also continuing her own education as a rider and horsewoman through hands-on experience, instruction, and time in the saddle. We’re so happy to have her as part of the team, and she has already become an invaluable part of Wild Dream Farms.

Kevin, Barn Supervisor in Training
You’ll likely see plenty of Kevin around Wild Dream Farms! A familiar face around the barn, Kevin is our barn supervisor in training and is already getting his start in the saddle with his first leadline class under his belt.
Kevin is a special part of the WDF family and can often be found supervising lessons, making friends with the horses, helping around the barn, and keeping everyone smiling
Our horses are an essential part of the Wild Dream Farms team. Each brings their own experience, personality, and strengths to the program, helping our riders build confidence, develop their skills, and become better horsemen both in and out of the saddle.

Kobe is a 16-year-old Oldenburg gelding and Danielle’s personal competition horse. Before joining Wild Dream Farms in April 2026, Kobe built an accomplished show record on the West Coast, including numerous wins in the Performance Hunters at heights up to 3'6".
After some time away from the show ring, Kobe and Danielle are focused on building their partnership, allowing him to return to competition at his own pace and progress as he is ready. As one of the newest members of the WDF family, Kobe’s next chapter is just getting started.
